I grew up in Idaho, actually only a couple of miles from where my husband and I raised our own kids. I went to Vallivue schools, just as my own children did. My husband and I have owned a construction company since 1991, he as a general contractor, myself as a painting contractor. As a small business owner most of my adult life, I have dealt with booming economies, and grueling recessions. Over the years I have worn every hat there is: human resources, marketing, bookkeeping, purchasing, right up to actual production.
I have been married to my husband, Bill, for several decades, and we raised wonderful children. We now enjoy the fruits of that with our seven grandchildren. I worked as a volunteer with the Vallivue schools for many years, even serving on an NEA KEYS (Keys to Excellence in Your Schools) task force throughout the state. The goal of the task force was to create better working relationships between parents and school staff.
I also wrote a column on painting and construction for the Press Tribune for many years. When blogs became popular, the paper asked me to begin writing a topical column on politics, women’s issues, and current affairs. I called it “Don’t Get Me Started” and it provided an outlet for my political frustrations. I have served as a precinct committeeman for the Republican party for about a decade. I have also served as District 12 Chairman, as well as currently serving as the Canyon County Republican Central Committee Chairman. I have long sought to serve the citizens of Canyon County, particularly District 12.
I am a lifelong Idahoan, with a passion for freedom, no patience for the liberal agenda, and the desire to keep Idaho a true conservative state.
